As a global ministry, we need coordinated tools, platforms, and support as more people are trying to reach people for Christ digitally. The Global Digital Council (GDC) was formed to help with this.
The function of the GDC is to provide careful and appropriate guidance and governance of our overall digital strategy and our digital assets. The council helps make sure that talent and money invested in digital assets are prioritized, optimized, and available to our multiplying disciples worldwide.
To give one example, the council ensures that our platforms and tools are meeting all the latest data protection legislation and that as a whole, we can negotiate better payment options to utilize different tools and platforms.
The membership of the GDC is carefully selected to ensure the representation within our movement. There are representatives from each MCC and from diverse geographies. There are currently 19 members on the council. The whole council meets monthly and a six-member core group meets weekly. The minutes of all the meetings are available to the whole council and any member can suggest agenda items to be discussed.
